Professional Standards
If a charge of violating the Code of Ethics or SMDRA bylaws surfaces, and forwarded on by the Grievance Committee the Professional Standards Committee will convene a hearing to settle the matter. These panels help keep disputes out of the court system and save REALTORS® time and money by settling matters without litigation. Arbitration Services are utilized if a member has a dispute on a commission or a contractual matter arising in the course of their real estate business, and they agree to arbitrate these controversies internally, rather than in the costly and time-consuming court system.   Visit our professional standards portion of the website for more detailed information.
