There is strength in
numbers! Real estate professionals who go it alone during tough market
conditions may achieve some level of success, but every REALTOR® can
benefit by working together during difficult times.
Just look at the
numbers. Thousands of real estate agents comprise the membership
rosters of the South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association and the other
seven associations in the seven-county metro Denver area. Your
colleagues represent a resource of vast knowledge that we all should
tap, including marketing expertise, how to farm, how to cultivate
relationships and build customers for life. This is true of each real
estate office, whether a single location or companies with multiple
facilities.
Visit with one another
and work together to achieve success. Help new agents learn the
business. What goes around comes around, and those you help along the
way will remember. It’s important to attend association meetings and be
proactive by serving on various committees. We may all be competitors,
but we are also a single entity of real estate professionals pursuing a
common goal, which is the continued success and growth of our business
and profession.
Another way to achieve
success during difficult times is to enhance your customer service. Do
the extra things that will show your clients that you care. Provide
tips on how to better present a home for showings, or perhaps enlist the
help of a staging professional. If you don’t already have a personal
website, create one. The Internet must be utilized at its highest
potential in today’s market.
We must serve as
personal counselors to our clients while constantly keeping their best
interests in mind. Ask questions in order to fully understand their
needs and goals. A trusting relationship will pay big dividends. The
most successful REALTORS® have made life-long friends of many of their
customers.
It’s also important to
be active within the communities we serve. By donating time to
charitable endeavors and community events, you expand your network of
potential customers who admire the fact that you genuinely care about
the community and its prosperity. This is especially true during the
holiday season.
We must band together
during the tough years. And when the market bounces back, we must stay
the course and continue to work diligently alongside our colleagues and
as active members of our associations.
I hope everyone enjoys
a great holiday season and I wish to personally extend my warmest wishes
for a Happy New Year! |
