Nominations for Annual Awards Needed!

The Annual Awards Selection Committees will be meeting soon to begin the process of selecting the REALTOR® of the Year, the Rising Star Award Recipient, the Affiliate of the Year Award Recipient, and the Community Service Awards.

 

Please send your nominations, based on the criteria listed below, to the Association office by June 30th. Your input is vitally important. The award recipients will be named at our 2008 Annual Inaugural Celebration to be held Wednesday, September 24th at the Marriott - Denver South at Park Meadows.
 

REALTOR® of the Year Guidelines:

  • Purpose - to recognize and pay tribute to the REALTOR® who has exemplified the service ideal of REALTOR® in his or her Association or community.

  • REALTOR® Spirit - high principles, faithfulness to law and Code of Ethics, furtherance of good real estate practice along with respect and admiration of fellow REALTORS® and the public.

  • Civic Activity - recognized leadership and/or participation in service clubs, civic and charitable activities, political activities, fraternal and/or religious groups.

  • Business Accomplishments - recognized achievement of success, good business conduct, service to clients, plus imaginative and creative business development.

  • Member Board Activities - local Board offices held, committee leadership and work, special assignments, including involvement in state and national associations, if any.

Rising Star in Memory of Don B. Weist Award Guidelines:

  • Purpose - To recognize and pay tribute to a REALTOR® who has given outstanding service to the South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association and/or his/her community during their first five years as a REALTOR®.

  • Must be an active REALTOR® member of the South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association for the entire calendar year in which the award is made.

Affiliate of the Year Guidelines:

  • Purpose - to recognize and pay tribute to an Affiliate Member who has given outstanding support to the South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association.

  • Must be an active, dues paying Affiliate Member of the South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association for the entire year.

  • Regular attendance at South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association functions

  • Outstanding support and participation in South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association functions, i.e. Installation Banquet, Charity Events, Annual Awards Event, etc.

  • Willingness to serve on South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association committees, i.e. special events, Affiliate Committees, etc.

Community Service Award Guidelines:

  • Purpose - to recognize and pay tribute to an individual and an organization that is involved within the service area of SMDRA but who is not involved in the real estate industry that meets at least one of the following criteria: 

  • Currently participating in community, charitable or civic activities.
  • Responsibility for a public service project that has a positive impact on the community.
  • Service in a notable volunteer capacity in local, state or national government.
  • Encouragement or participation in, or implementation of, community projects in published materials.
  • Service in an outstanding manner as an appointed or elected official at the local, state or national level.
